A Case for Bob Barr

If you take advantage of the tag surfer on WordPress like I do, you will see two things:  People telling you to vote for Barack Obama because he is not John McCain and people telling you to vote for John McCain because he is not Barack Obama.  Bob Barr is not McCain or Obama, but that is NOT why you should vote for him:

Vote for Bob Barr because he understands the ramifications of the patRIOT Act.  It is true that he voted for it, but it was him that added the sunset clause in the bill and he will fight to repeal the Patriot Act because he sees it for what it is:  an intrusion on Americans’ privacy.

Vote for Bob Barr because he is more frugal with our money than either McCain or Obama.  John McCain has admitted that the economy isn’t his strong point and Obama proves it when he speaks.  Barr is fiscally conservative and is best qualified to balance the budget.

Vote for Bob Barr because he is the candidate most concerned with the issues that matter most.  While McCain and Obama bicker over the gas tax, Bob Barr is talking about cutting spending and government growth.

Vote for Bob Barr because of his pro-second amendment voting record and his unwavering support of gun owners’ rights.

We have two choices on Election Day.  The two choices are not McCain or Obama.  The two choices are Liberty and Tyranny.  Vote for Liberty.  Vote Libertarian.  Vote for Bob Barr.

Let’s Discuss the Issues

I believe that the more we discuss the issues and the candidates’ records, the more people that neither John McCain nor Barack Obama are worth your vote.  Let’s discuss government spending, the debt, the flux of workers retiring and wanting Social Security, Iraq, immigration, and foreign policy.

Bring it!

“Half-Ass” Democrats

The Democrats should change the name of their party.  The “One Person – One Vote” mantra reserved for democracies does not apply here.  If you’re a Democratic voter from Florida or Michigan, your vote only counts for half a vote.  That’s not Democratic.

One can make the case that Michigan had to be fixed somehow because many of the Democratic candidates chose to be taken off the ballot when it was announced that Michigan votes would not count.  Florida was different.  Neither candidate campaigned in Florida.  They had equal exposure and Hillary Clinton won in Florida.  Floridian Democrats are being punished because the Republican-majority State House and the Republican-Majority State Senate voted to move the primary dates earlier.  (Much to the chagrin of Democratic Party leader Howard Dean).  I should note that it was signed into law by Charlie Crist, a Republican governor.

Hillary Clinton supporters:   Instead of voting for John McCain  as a protest  to the DNC’s decision, I would like to suggest a vote for Bob Barr.  If you vote for McCain, you would be rewarding the party that shafted the elections in your state.  The Bob Barr of today is different than the Bob Barr that helped impeach former President Bill Clinton.
